maybe! i had the idea though that they were in the same year - i see moss being autistic as practically canon, and i was thinking that maybe he tried uni as soon as he could, but various factors (large changes to routine, social isolation from living away from home, etc) made him drop out and have to try again later in life

(its something im certain ive seen in college, and its something im worried about for myself in regards to uni, because i love putting my own struggles into my writing LOL)

as someone who started attending college at 15 ive always found the factors behind why someone might attend further/higher education at an age older than expected pretty interesting, and its something i wanna explore in writing :3

currently trying to do research into the it crowds timeline without rewatching the show and trying to spot any little detail i can, how accurate is the fandom wiki? rambles under cut

the main details im looking for are when the show is set + roys age, which afaik neither can be directly proved? it says that s1 is set in late 2005 despite airing in 2006, though i looked around the channel 4 website on the wayback machine and i saw a comment claiming that the writer had said filming for s4 would start in march 2010 - that series started airing june of that year so if we assume that filming times were the same then we can assume that filming for s1 was around november 2005 if that series aired in february 2006, maybe thats where they get that number from?

it also states that roy was born in the same year as his actor, chris o'dowd, in 1979. while this can be a reasonable assumption considering in s4 its mentioned that hes in his early 30s, and assuming that this is in 2010 then that would make him 31, it also states that moss was born in 1977 - the same year as his actor, richard ayoade - but this is untrue according to the wikis own timeline. moss states himself in s1e3 that he is 32, but if he were born in 1977 and if the year that this was set was 2005 then he would have been 28. So Like. does he have a canon age or what

(but also, this was spurred on by thinking abt my roy-and-moss-meet-at-uni fic i wanna write and, while i dont hc them as getting together until MUCH later, i still dont wanna accidentally make their age gap too big at this point - i was already worrying about a 4-year age gap of 18 and 22 (assuming that s1 is set in 2006, moss is born in 1974 and roy is 32 in s4 (headcanon pre-wiki check), thus being born in 1978 - i was imagining that roy would go to uni as soon as he could i.e. when he turned 18 in 1996), let alone a 6-year age gap of 18 and 24 - they may have been in the same stages of life considering theyre both starting uni but still, that doesnt sound exactly right 😭)

woah, it's definitely going on my watch list now, few posts i've seen talking or reviewing jjba always used complicated gargon so i could never properly pay attention to what they were saying but reading your post was v nice and i can assume you like it a lot, when did you start watching if i could ask?(/notforced)

also thank you for avoiding the spoilers lol, i'm tempted to search up spoilers but now i just wanna enjoy this series and the manga properly so i'll avoid those (really the only 'spoiler' i've ever seen is the "it's me dio" meme, if that even counts as a 'spoiler'?) 

out of curiosity i just searched what j giel looked like, interesting design choices? ig? ;; (/halfjoke) but once again ty for the major spoilers warning, i'm kind of itching to find out for myself now haha

i never realized the artstyle of jjba has changed so much actually? i've seen late 3-early 4 artstyle so finding out about this style diversity is actually so cool, it really matches the years they were in well, early part 1 reminds of me some of the hero comics i've seen from around those years as well. this chart manages to show the changes v well though, it looks so pretty

and now that you mention it, kira dude does look like david bowie now that i think about it, and woah he has an entire season/arc? is he a major character or some kind? (/genquestion) i'm looking forward to watching that season now, the 'slice of life/detective drama' combo sounds interesting and i've never thought to combine those before so i'm hyped (/gen)

yes it should!!!11! i started watching/reading it in... 2019/2020 i think. it was when i lived in my old house so it was sometime around there my brother actually recommended it to me!! we watched it together, and we've watched every season (other than the latest- stone ocean. we watched it separately for that one) together and it honestly probably is part of why i love it so much because i generally associate him with it haha

you shouldnt spoil it AT ALLL its such a great series and stone ocean was so bad for me because i already knew the entire ending (cuz i read the manga) so watching the anime. was intensely sorrowing because it was all so stunningly beautiful and heart moving and yada yada but i knew what was gonna happen!!! all the suspense was gone!!!

and and and. i feel like even with j geil it just shows how DYNAMIC or whatever the art style is.. like

hes DISGUSTING but it fits!!! even when you watch the show the overall style change may really not register until you sit back and think aboutit because its like a gradual switch, a really pretty switch though since it really just shows the magaka (hirohiko araki) growing and learning with the series its really beautiful

im slightly sure kira was based off him but i really cant be sure his design can 100% be since alot of things in the show starting part 3 i think are like references to bands and songs-- kira for example's power, killer queen, like the song by queen has a power called bites the dust and sheer heart attack, just like the albums/songs from queen aswell its really smart isnt it?? and kira really is important. i wont elaborate but hes really important in season 3/part 4 (season one has the first two parts, "phantom blood" and "battle tendency" then every part after is its own season-- probably because part 1 and 2.. well.. are different to the rest- youll see why) if u watch it youll either love him cuz hes kinda lovable when u ignore his Biggest "Flaw" (a character flaw, like a trait not flaw as in story flaw). or youll love him cuz every scene with him atleast to me is really. uhh i forgot the word in english : D enthralling? rohans designs are honestly. the best designs in jojo to me and the main reason for that is kinda cuz theyre pretty not bizarre (in comparison.)

it also has to do with part 4's coloring aswel, like i cant find the image but his hair is just. blue one time (and purple i think) just cuz they never really do that uch after part4 which is so sad.. but its okay because it makes part 4 more unique also. rohans outfits change it might not seem like much but rohans outfits. change probably becuz hes araki's self insert so hes always making him cool (like in stone ocean where,,, uhh.. basically something happens and time is speeding up a bit, and no mangakas can make manga becuz their ink drys up too fast, and rohan is the only mangaka whos still pushing out manga- cuz of his powers) Im. rambling. UHH ive started chainsaw man only recently so i cant go as in depth as jojo but once ive finished. well if i finish ill definitely have new opinions for now though i love kobeni

Now that I've been asked my brain is blank 😭😭

Anyway chronic Genshin player, I know far too much lore for my own good, I 100%ed Natlan far too fast, the Lore and Theories are goin too, but I wasn't (and was) expecting the events of 5.3 so things are getting reshuffled in my brain until I figure out how to cope lol

On that actually, I have a massive Genshin AU that I'm working on (that would give away my main, lol) and I devote far to much time too it.

Projects wise, I have a whole writing project that I'm doing (based on that au) that may one day see the light of day. It's a complete rewrite of the game. Parallel, but not exact.

I've been working on the documents for that recently. Although I'm not done with this, I've been researching different tribes (Natlan storyline), it's been super cool and interesting.

That reminds me I have to go resize an image because docs mobile doesn't let you do that (??? Why.)

Somewhere along the lines we watched HoyoFair and Stairway to Heaven has totally not permanently stayed in my brain. I adore horror and I'm so glad there was a crossover between horror and Genshin. Columbina is scary super cool.

It also brought our Columbina introject out, she likes churros apparently, lol.

This is clearly all Genshin, huh. Wonder why that could be (<- Genshin fictive/hyperfixation too).

I really like drawing actually, grew up w/ an artist and it's been ingrained ever since. Very creative, but also a technician. If I didn't have to be out today I'd be finishing my art or writing or something. Also used to make music, and used to be a live streamer!

To be honest, I spend most of my days daydreaming because I can't always leave my bed (fuck my health), so I use those daydreams to write. With the main project it's now looking like it'll be 100k+ words, the Genshin arc specifically looks like at least 30k+.

I also studied animals a while ago and a bunch of stuff like that. I'm that guy watching movies like "hey! That's not how that should look!" But I don't voice it (or watch movies for that matter)

Very nature lover of me, tbh. Lol.

Hmm. What else have I been up to. Uh.. oh I do a lot of work for the collective, simplyplural and such. It's fun.

I'm also playing chess with someone, although I've not won against them yet.

I think that's it for interests (at least without letting people know my main, no idea how far I can go without spilling that accidentally, I'm not even hiding it for anything lol)

I actually run a few blogs, pretty fun but I am not all too active.
